Yes the end gets closer as Home Free goes into some of the Final stages of editing. With a few more special effects and a fine tuning the premiere for Home Free the movie will be coming around the corner sooner then you think. With more clips to come for the web and a whole documentary on how this film was shot in three days on a limited budget of 1,000 dollars.

The film which is not rated should be premiering soon in the central California area. This documentary style comedy is just about dealing with life while being in a bad spot in life (That we all hit at one point somewhere in life). Some of he cast in the film are really homeless, also in the film there are interviews with some people that are really living on the streets. During this recession a lot of people are struggling with jobs and money. Home Free is that movie that reminds you no how bad life knocks you down, that you can always get it back by laughing in its face. I bet your wondering.. What is The Grip? Well then let me tell you. Its kinda like a drive-in with no cars. We play movies you enjoy them, enough said. Film makers need more places to show their films and that is why we created The Grip. The Grip is one of the most unappreciated jobs in the movie industry, but one of most important. That's how I feel about the scene for filmmakers in Bakersfield, CA. There should be more support and more venues featuring local film makers. So with the help of Caffeine Supreme we have been able to show films for the last four weeks. The thing that is so awesome about all this is we have had a really great turn out. Hey everyone. We wanted to answer all the questions you might have about Wretched Flesh. Well the movie that we have been working on for about two years now is still being worked on. This movie was done on no budget. Although the movie is still not completed, we are still working hard on getting a final project. But because of dumb legalities we have yet to give you the film. But there is good news! A brand new trailer popped on the Wretched Flesh Website before Jason's hard drive crashed... Bummer. Well I guess we will have to re-edit a lot of stuff and maybe steal a bit of money to get it finished, but while its on the back burner waiting to be cooked we have a zombie comedy series that is taking way on youtube.com. Its about a guy trying to save his dog from zombies. Simply enough right? And we are hoping that the show will satisfy your zombie appietiee until Wretched Flesh comes out on dvd.

Wanna Be a Zombie 2! Filming Wretched Flesh Sunday 2/17

Just Be a Zombie! Sunday 2/17

As you know we are stretching our movie Wretched Flesh into a full length movie. So we need to get more zombies. So if you wanna be a zombie show up tomorrow morning at in between 9:am and 12 pm because we need you! All you will need is some clothes to wear that you don't care about and our make-up guys will take care of the rest. Even if you were a zombie at the last shoot you are still welcome to come out!!!! But please do not bring anyone under 12 years old. We will be using a lot of special effects and props so we wanna stay as save as possible! Oh and yes we should have the filming done in March! Check back on the website for updates and behind the scenes footage.

Heck yes! We need as many zombies as we can get! We have one more class on Tuesday 15th at 6pm! Show up and learn the moves of a zombie! Our last class is at MAP to The Hectic Films Studio. And please don't worry if you can't make the classes just show up on May 20th at The Downtowner Inn. Please make sure to bring clothes that you can get dirty in!

Zombie Cast Meeting is May 5th @ 2 pm!!!

We just want to say first off that we thank all of you who have responded to our zombie request! Especially the few from the Bakersfield roller girls! We are meeting may 5th at Rusty's pizza on Ming and ash (link is posted below). Drinks (not beer, sorry) will be on us, but if you want pizza you will have to buy that yourself. The meeting is to basically get your ideas and show you what we want your zombie character to look like. We will also be revealing the time and place that we are filming the Zombie Movie. Which will have to be changed since the 13th is Mother's day. So we will have to reschedule it to Sunday the 20th. So please join us for some zombie action!

Need work on your Zombie Moves?

Padgett Productions will hosting, at no cost, a Zombie Acting Class at the Hectic Films studio to practice the next two Tuesday nights May 8th and May 15th at 6:30pm. If you want to be in some good action/death shots PLEASE attend. We will be practicing head shots and body shots and fighting scenes! If you are interested in attending the Padgett Production acting class there will be sign ups available those two nights. Thanks again to Padgett Productions for helping us out! PLEASE NOTE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND TO BE IN THE MOVIE

Shooting Time
We will shoot mid day for around 3-5 hours. You don't have to stay the whole time. You can leave and come back. Whatever time you have to donate we are extremely grateful for. Water will be provided and we are working on getting food for everyone also (If you have hot dogs or anything let us know) We will provide clothes, make-up and blood. If you have old clothes that you would like to tear up to make your own zombie costume… Go for it! If you need us to make your costume let us know at the meeting.

ZOMBIE MOVIE INFO!

Ok we have gotten a lot of questions regarding our upcoming movie Wretched Flesh. I am going to try to keep you posted as much as possible. This video with an estimated run time of about 20 minutes will be about 2 men caught in a bunch of zombies. Which means the zombies have already been established so no lame back story just raw zombie action. I really can't reveal much more then that. We are working on a location, where the whole movie will be shot at. Right now we are just putting together a crew to film with some make-up artist and doing video tests. If you know of any other film companies forward them to this blog post please! Ok I am going to go through some of the FAQ:

Can I bring my kids?

Yeah that’s fine with me. I will warn you they will be in store for some gruesome, nasty bloody zombies. If you are coming down to be a zombie and your kids are with you, my advise is take someone with you that is not going to be wearing make-up (to help watch them). Trust me… If you have ever seen our movie skip? I filmed that in the kid's bathroom and when your 5 and daddy's in the bathtub with his face wrapped in saran wrap… It could ruin a childhood.

Will I be paid?

As much as I would love to pay you I really can't. We are funding all movie expenses by ourselves. We will be providing water at the shoot and maybe everyone can throw down on some pizza or something. This is also a great thing to put on your resume, if you are going to become a serious actor. We will also be putting this in film festivals around the usa and if we can over seas. Oh yeah it will be in BIFF. We can pay you with a hectic films sticker. Just email (hecticmail@hecticfilms.com) us your address and we will send it to you.

How do I sign up?

We have now started an official list so you can email us at hecticmail@hecticfilms.com with the word zombie in the subject. We will email you with the meeting date and a filming date. Also we have a few easy stunts for some of the zombies. If you are interested please let us know in your email. Also you don't just have to be a zombie. We need set design, lighting, camera crew and we really need people who know how to do make-up. So please include all that in your email. Also you will have to attend the meeting before the shoot. You don't have to stay. We just need to take your picture, get your name and have you sign a release form and give you a picture of the zombies. If you can't make it email us.

Ok if I am a Zombie what I'm going to do?

Well, that will be determined by your level of interest in stunts. Do you want to be shot? Do you want to be hit in the head? This isn't a normal zombie movie. Some of the zombies run and some don't. Also some are being tested and will stand out more. So its really up to you in a lot of shots on what you want to do. So be creative.

Make-up and Costume?

We will have make-up people there. I am not sure how many will show up. So what we will do is hand out pictures of what we want the zombies to look like. You can take it home and before the shoot apply your own make-up to look some what like the zombie. The only thing we care about is the skin being dark around the eyes, other than that its all up to you. Now if you want us to we can provide a costume. We will be taking sizes at the meeting and will email you when your costume is ready. If you want to do your own costume too that is fine with us. Just please let us know.

About the Release Form:

The release form is just saying that you won't sue Hectic Films and you know that you are not getting paid for acting. I will be posting the form on our website so you can print it and read it over.

When are we going to Film?

Hopefully the beginning of next month. After we have finished meeting with actors and crews we will set a date and give you a two week notice in advance. It will be during the day and probably on a weekend. But that all depends on the owner of the location.

Well some of you may be thinking after you watch the video… WTF? I said the same thing when NL Belardes and Jim Padgett were in Melinda's bed with no shoes on…..Mental picture… Oh no… Anyway we made this video for NL to promote a famous writer. I didn't care what we filmed really.. Seeing Big Jim and the twins in the dress was enough for me. Ok. Well watch the video decide for yourself.

Hey Everyone,
We hope you have been enjoying our Bakersfield Underground News Syndicate (BUNS) videos. We have been working on a few projects lately. One including a new hecticfilms.com website and the other unleashing what we like to call a youtube for Bakersfield. We will be uploading the finished project soon. Also we wanted to let everyone know that we want to start previewing bands on our BUNS videos. We got invited to film Condor's Hockey games to post on the Bobblehead blog. We have just got our custom made puppet Soda and are thinking about using him as our interviewer. LORDS PROJECT UPDATE

Well if you come to this site often you know that we are working on our lords project and trying to rush to get it finished... The sad we will just finish filming it today.. Which means for headaches and rush/crunch time. We are doing our best to make it scary. Hopefully we will come out on top with this one, but who knows. We just can't stop fixing up our new van! We just finished fixing down the outside and put a huge sticker on the side of it.. We are talking huge! GREAT REVIEWS AT THE ART SHOW!

Well they played our scary short on the wall of the art show and people really did get scared. We didn't think we would get very good reviews on this short, but we did. People were turning their heads and then the crew sat down to watch it and we all started laughing! You know to film that short we ducked taped a camera to a mono pod in a 5 gallon water jug.. All of the three people that we in it film it! Crazy! You try checking out shots with your face covered in saran wrap! Opps we gave away a secret. LORDS CASTING CALL A SUCESS

Well for all that showed up to help us out we just wanna say thanks! We had a really good turn and hope to do something like that agian. We are really excited to get in on the contest. LORDS UPDATE!

Well as some of you know we are making a short to enter into the LORDS film contest... We have be warned that we will have our rears handed to us or in short... Blown out of the water.. We have lost many hours of sleep on countless nights and came to the conclusion... We could get some pretty cool things with a 1,000 bucks in our pocket! So we are going all-in to do some never before seen stuff.. We are going to try to break some new ground on this bad boy... We are even doing a casting call on this Thursday! The video footage recorded will be posted on our site for our competitors to really see what they are up agianst.. Who else is doing that? Who else is going to show you their secrets of their entry? No one! So stay tuned because by next weekend we will show you the inside scoop on some of our ground breaking material for our entry in the contest...

Fly on the Wall 2

The moment you have all been waiting for.... Fly on the Wall 2. We should have this second episode done very soon. It has some more cool special effects and some great music put together by some of the members from Throatshot, Blake and Rohan and their friend Mavis. It is going to unfold an little more story and make you want more. The Fly on the wall theory is going to drive you nuts!

BIFF REVIEW.

Well for those of us that couldn't make it to the Bakersfield Indie Film fest, let me just tell you .....YOU MISSED OUT! Well you are all in luck. Premiering for the first time at BIFF were many entries from Hectic Films, including the short film, “Medicated” on opening night (Stars Amanda Klawitter and Jason Sanders). Rickey Bird is an interesting young filmmaker and is just one of many people in the Hectic Films circle of up-and-coming moviemakers who all collaborate to make some really cool works of art. I met Rickey on day two of the Festival for an interview that will be on episode 36 of the Buck City Podcast. We talked about where Hectic Films is headed and about some of their production techniques.

Scene from "Medicated"

The guys from Hectic Films make dark dramas, some tongue-and-cheek, with most productions including messages revolving around the corrupt and often psychosomatic American culture of drugs, murder, insanity and cops. "Medicated" is a short film that builds on the idea of mankind dependent on medication. Without medication, man’s views of the world are an illusory path of darkness and fear. We see this theme through the eyes of a character who wonders if he took his meds. Other Hectic Films entries included: "Karma Police", "Badge Part One", "Fly on the Wall: Episode 1", and a trailer for their feature film, "Daft".

I really dig “Fly on the Wall”, a piece you can watch on the Hectic Films website along with all the other episodes I mentioned. Fly is about someone who may have committed murder in his own home. Did he? Watch the video and come to your own conclusions.

Music Videos???

Yep thats right. We are starting to make some music videos. Hopefully we will be starting the video for Throatshot soon. We spoke with some of the band members and we think we have a killer idea for their video. If you want your video to kick some rear. So with that said a few bands have asked us about doing their video. Well we decided to post our price list for videos. We just finished fly on the wall. Our new thriller/mystery. It should be up by next week. It is a story of a murder, but the question is who did it? This is going to be an on going series of episodes so try not to miss one! Oh yeah the fly on the wall series probably isn't good for the little ones.

Hectic Films in the News!

We just got an article in the local South West Voice. One of the editor's asked us to write an article about ourselfs. So well we did. I have to give Brittany Bird most the credit because she re-worded a lot of what I said to make me look smart. The paper is free only if you live in Bakersfield. If you do live in bakersfield you should grab a copy and read it. We will be posting the article in on the website soon. But until then here is a list of where they have the newspaperin bakersfield. Find the one with the golden ticket and you may be able to go to the Hectic Films Studio in China. (Just kidding we really don't have a golden ticket)

Badge Episode 2

We having been working very hard in trying to make the badge episode 2 better then all the rest of the badges... So because there is only one it really shouldn't be a problem.
